Meet the Fall 2024 Exec Team
We have six exec positions on our team, and each term lasts for two semester or a year. At the end of each semester, an election is held between all members of the team to decide who the next exec members will be. Some positions run over into each other such as co-president and co-treasurer. This is so each new president or treasurer will have someone to teach them how to do properly to their job in their first semester on exec. Below you will find our Spring 2025 exec team
Co-President - Abigail Humber
Hey everyone! My name is Abigail, and I’m lso psyched to be joining the exec team this semester as co-president! I’ve been climbing since the ripe old age of 8 years old, and I’m excited to share my love of this amazing sport with y’all. My favorite crag is the New River Gorge, so if you need route recommendations or are planning a trip hmu! Outside of climbing, I’m also an aspiring clinical psychologist, which means I can give you beta first and then free therapy afterwards if you punt on your proj lol. The UVA climbing community is so special, and I can’t wait to make some awesome memories with everyone this year.

Co-Trip Leader - Ben Willey
Hi guys! I’m Ben Willey and I’ll be a Co-trip leader this year alongside Owen. I’m a first year chemical engineering major 🧪 who probably climbs a bit too much. Outside of climbing I love to play video games 🎮 and hang out with my gang. I’m still pretty new to this whole trip leader gig, but I’ve learned a lot already and will only continue to improve! So happy to be a part of the climbing team and to be able to make friends with all you guys 😁. Looking forward to all the banger trips we have planned and say hi if you see me around grounds 🤙🤙.
Co-Trip Leader-- Owen Watzlavick
Hey everyone! My name is Owen and I’ll be one of y’all’s co-trip leaders this year. I’m a second year econ/phil major, and you may know me from driving the most funnest car around. I’m just a baby trip-leader for now, but don’t worry Sam is educating me so I’ll be super great at my job next semester. I promise. Climbing is basically the only fun thing I do so I’d love to be friends with everyone in the club! If I don’t first, say hi when you see me around!
Social Chair - Colin Walsh
Hello good people of this great nation. I am a third year and am the one in charge of the social scene, as they say. I have been active in the club since my first year when I initially got into rock climbing. The club was the impetus for what is now a large part of my life. Since joining the club I have gained experience sport climbing, outdoor bouldering, trad climbing, multi-pitch climbing, and even a little ice climbing. Whether you are interested in climbing inside, outside, ropes, or bouldering, the club is for you. If you see me at Slaughter or out and about please do not hesitate to say hello!!
Co-Treasurer - Tara Udani
Hey guys I’m Tara and I’m one of your co-treasurers this semester!! I started climbing when I joined the team 1.5 years ago and have been a slab fiend ever since 😼. I’m double majoring in data science and environmental science, and I was in Copenhagen this fall for study abroad!! If you wanna talk about traveling, thai food or the emotional complexities of the smirking cat and/or lip bite emoji, I’m your man. It is my promise as treasurer that I will get us out of this Great Depression and restore peace🙌 I can’t wait to see you🫵 at practice this semester!!
Co-Treasurer - Marcin Lubocki
Hello there! I’m Marcin, one of the co-treasurers. I’ve been climbing at Slaughter since moving here from Poland 1.5 years ago as a visiting PhD student in medical sciences through the BioLab program. Since then, only three people have pronounced my name correctly. I’ve been climbing for four years total, and I’ve truly mastered the art of staying on a plateau.
A traveler hard to stop—I’ve visited 15 states in the past year and plan to add more. My heart is split between West Virginia’s New River Gorge and Poland’s Tatry Mountains where I return whenever I can to find my soul again.
I’m a huge music fan—especially metal—and I long for my beloved guitar collection that I had to leave abroad. Somehow, though, I’ve already collected four guitars here, so I guess I’m building a second one. How I’ll get them all back home? I don’t know yet—but I’m me, so I’ll find a way.
